Broadcast Engineer (West Los Angeles)

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Broadcast Engineer to join our Broadcast Engineering support team. This key position brings all platform design activity under a single main focus group as a core systems design function covering all technologies for our television platforms. You will supply the technical expertise for the systems needed to support multiple TV stations, Network and studio productions. Excellent communication skills are needed to keep clients and management up to date with ongoing work. To prosper in this role the following skills and experience are required:

• Demonstrable track record of working within a digital television broadcast environment in a Broadcast Support role. • An in-depth understanding of a broadcast television transmission
• An understanding of modern transmission production systems, including camera and studio systems.
• Thorough knowledge of operating broadcast test and measurement equipment.
• Strong overall understanding of IT and Networking.
• HNC (or equivalent) in IT / Broadcast / Engineering qualification.
• Current/active CCIE Certification or equivalent knowledge highly desirable and/or preferred
• Experience in managing and leading infrastructure and network projects
• Significant experience with large scale and complex projects; must possess a high-level of technical expertise
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast television
• a great team-oriented attitude and a dedication to quality
• A strong IT background
• A College degree, SBE certification, and A+ certification are highly desired

Technical Skills:
In addition, thorough knowledge / experience on one or more of the following specific technical topics is highly desirable:
o Multicast
o Complex QoS
o MPLS (in-house)
•• Troubleshoot complex microwave control systems, microwave receive systems, as well as other broadcast & production systems
• Working Knowledge of MPEG transport streams and Television encoders
• Familiarity with all FCC rules, regulations as well as test equipment operation for diagnosis of all digital and analog signals
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, act decisively and successfully execute multiple assignments concurrently
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels
• Believes that teams are smarter and more dynamic together

Sales Assistant for sales team at Spanish Television Station (WEST LOS ANGELES)

This position is responsible for working with Account Executives and Traffic Department to service and maintain agencies and clients on a daily basis.

• Assists with the maintenance of media schedules
• Build and modify sales orders including weekly allocations and revision requests
• E-Mailing Spot Placement reports including national/local post, pre, and weekly logs.
• Makes good on all pre-empted spots as well as monitoring programming changes • Coordinates added value implementation •

• PC experience using Orion/VCI, Arianna/Nielsen, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Spanish, English both spoken and written very important.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and to understand written and oral instructions
• Ability to organize and schedule work effectively
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment
• High level of database proficiency
• Prior Sales Assistant experience preferred
• Prior Media internship or experience highly desired
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
• Listens well and actively engages others to facilitate positive outcomes
• Personally commits to excellence in every aspect of work

LATV launched as a full 24/7 National Network in 2007. It is based in Los Angeles on an Owned-and-Operated station, KJLA TV 57. Our core audience is Hispanic 18-49, Spanish -- Bilingual. As the Nation's first Bi-Cultural digital multi-cast television network we reach 80% of U.S. Hispanic households. LATV is available in 45 markets, including the top 25 Hispanic DMA's.
